The Davis Pack originated when Judy and Sam became high school sweethearts in 1959. It was formalized when we married on Christmas Eve, 1962.

Casey came to the pack from the Hendersonville, NC Animal Control Shelter on June 24, 1997. He was five years old, and our first dog.

He was the world's most charming dog, and for fourteen years brought joy to our Pack. We let him go on July 7, 2010.

Maggie is the pack's new joy. She's a Border Terrier mix, and was about 14 months old when she came to us on May 2, 2011 from a Lenior, NC rescue group.

We don't yet have many pictures of Maggie, but clicking on her photo will display a brief slide show.

The pack maintains an Aristream trailer and a diesel truck for towing it. This is our solution for traveling with a dog, and has worked very well for the past five years. We've spent most of every summer in the northern US and Canada. In the winter we've spent a month or two in Florida.

On August 13, 2004 the pack celebrated Judy's 60th birthday with three fabulous parties in a three day extravganza. We were so very fortunate that her friends came to Tryon from all over the country. A good time was had by all.

In his dotage Sam messes about with web design, Early on his websites were for the pack, but recently he's doing pro bono web development for not-for-profit groups.
